Concept and philosophy of the Exhibition
“Carthage” a singular choice coming from 3000 years of history from punic and roman era to modern Tunisia: A country of Builders.
Launched in 1993, the “Carthage” International Building Exhibition has become over the years a crucial meeting for the profession in Tunisia. It is the world of builders, designers and industrials of the construction business.
It is an adequate place for discovering new products and participating in seminars and is also a good reflection of business dynamics.
With the support of the Building National Federation (UTICA) and the Building materials, ceramics and glass Technical Center (CTMCCV), the Tunis International Fairs Company has been organizing every two years the “Carthage” International Building Exhibition.
The “Carthage” International Building Exhibition has the following objectives:
- To assess every two years the situation of the building and construction sector.
- To propose to building professionals and to building products manufacturers a place for presentation and exchange.
- To show recent innovations and new processes.
- To present all kinds of crafts connected to the building and construction industry.
- To foster the growth of business relations and partnerships.
- To diversify supply sources and to promote exports.
- To increase sales and to improve company image.
The year 2008 will greet the ninth session of the “Carthage” International Building Exhibition, from May 21 to May 25, 2008.

I- Products space:
- Sanitary articles and taps.
- Heating, air-conditioning, plumbing, pipes, swimming pools, saunas and others.
- Building chemistry: paints and by-products, water proofing and sound proofing products, adjuvants, mastics and resins …
- Cement, plaster and by-products, lime, concrete prefabricated materials.
- Red products such as bricks, hourdage, tiles …
- Quarry products such as stones, gravel, sand …
- Building electricity: all lighting products, electrical equipment, alarms and home protection equipment.

The Exhibition:
They are manufacturers of products and equipments for construction, building and public works as well as representatives in charge of selling.
Will also attend the “Carthage 2008” exhibition, services companies connected to the building sector. Services companies involved in construction process and building completion will be present at the “Building Crafts” space.
A particular space will be devoted to real estate developers.
Another particular space will be dedicated to labour exchange and enterprises creation. This space main objectives are to encourage the hiring of high school graduates and technicians by the building companies on one hand and to incite projects promoters to set up their own enterprises on the other hand.
Special villages were set up such as the “Stone Village” during the 2006 show, with a particular emphasis put on promotion and vivid and lively actions.

A significant effort has been undertaken to foster north african relationships in the field of building. A great number of algerian and libyan professionals are invited by CEPEX and Tunis International Fairs Company with the aim to develop business relations, trade and partnerships.

Since its creation, the Building Exhibition has kept on stirring foreign and tunisian professional visitors interest. As a matter of fact, 10.000 professional visitors of whom 1000 foreigners visited Carthage 2006. They were made up of the following people:
Private and public purchasing managers, real estate developers, building contractors, construction materials manufacturers and dealers, architects, engineers, geometers, study firms, decorators, technicians in various fields of the building industry and private individuals eager to build or to transform their own houses.
The exhibition is open to public at large during the last day of the show.
