Side events: Conferences and seminars concerning sector specific topics will be held together with young creators competitions and fashion shows.
 
 
The Management Unit of the Industrial Modernization Program of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, has signed an agreement with Tunis International Fairs Company for a promotional assistance mission. This unit will finance the hiring of five international experts who will have as a task to promote the exhibition worldwide and to invite major foreign buyers and company ordering officers to attend the show. They will operate in the following target countries: Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Algeria and Libya with the following objectives:
  • To promote the exhibition worldwide.
  • To lure exhibitors in order to improve exhibition offer.
  • To attract professional visitors such as company ordering officers, businessmen interested in sub-contracting, co-contracting and partnership.

Concept and philosophy of the Exhibition
Promocuir 2008 is a professional event open to the participation of foreign and tunisian enterprises operating in all fields related to leather and shoes: raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, materials and equipments.
 
PROMOCUIR is one of the most important exhibition specialized in the field of leather and shoes on an african level.
 
Exhibition New Guidelines :
  • To reinforce its international exposure.
  • To present multi sectors such as leather and synthetic channels.
  • To sustain and develop industry promotion.
  • To provide a positive and innovative image.
  • To make south mediterranean offer known.
PROMOCUIR is striving to position itself as a major event of the leather and shoes industry, in order to foster industry exports and to identify channels of distribution on the domestic market. It has the following objectives: 
  • To present new models, creations and trends.
  • To develop partnership opportunities, co-contracting and sales with foreign centralized purchasing houses managers on the international market.
  • To promote orders to tunisian tradesmen and wholesalers on the domestic market.
 
Co-contracting and partnership space:
Co-contracting space will have to underline tunisian firms ability to compete, their capability to react swiftly to changes, their commitments to respect delivery times and quality standards. This space is set aside for enterprises established in Tunisia.
Partnership space is dedicated to organize business meetings.

Exhibition objective:
To register 200 manufacturers of semi-finished and finished products, of shoes and accessories, including subcontractors.
 
Historical data
The first exhibition was set up in 1985 and was organized by the National Leather and Shoe Center. In 2004, The Tunis International Fairs Company undertook to organize PROMOCUIR exhibition and launched the same year a study about PROMOCUIR concept, feasibility and value added to the industry.
 
This study has paved the way to the new session which will take place from May 8 to May 10, 2008.
 
The last session of February 2004 experienced the attendance of 27 foreign and 85 tunisian firms with the participation of the following countries: Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Syria, India, Algeria and Tunisia.
 
The number of professional visitors reached 1852 of whom 1315 Tunisians and 537 Foreigners coming from the following countries: Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Algeria and Libya.
 
For the 2008 session, 200 exhibitors are expected of whom 160 Tunisians and 40 Foreigners.
 
Expected visitors
Centralized buying houses, company ordering officers, wholesalers, industrials and professionals of the leather and shoes sector.
 
Advantages and facilities granted to foreign professionals:
- Transportation: a 50 % discount on Tunisair airfares is granted upon presentation of an invitation document.
Hotel accommodations: a special price is granted in selected hotels in Tunis.
